Well into Winter

We have some wonderful snow here. Unfortunately, my hip is not doing well with skiing. The upside of that is that I tried a new twist on winter running. Trail running with crampons. This was a tip from Patrick's ultramarathon running friend. It actually worked well, and it was cold enough that no one else was out on the trails to see me looking like a dork. Next up - talking Patrick into a trip to the mountains so I can try running up something. I have been searching and searching for a trail shown on the map which connects the Georgetown Rowley State Forest with another forest in Topsfield. It looks like it may be necessary to cross a marsh. We will need colder weather for that to freeze it over. I saw some snowshoe tracks going across, but it didn't seem like a great plan to follow them with crampons in the late afternoon.
